About SETO

The Student Educational Travel Organisation (SETO) has been established to represent the student educational group travel community, incorporating specialist educational travel tour operators, suppliers, teachers, schools and universities, to act as a conduit between the travel and education sectors.

SETO facilitates further understanding and deeper connections between educational travel operators and the broader education community. This includes government and private bodies, and to support social endeavours that provides an inclusive opportunity for all students to participate in educational travel programs.

SETO is the peak body delivering accreditation for school travel operators with a focus on governance, best business practices, ethics, and health and safety management standards.

SETO's Key Pillars

To assist in maintaining the highest possible product and service standards, SETO provides a forum for members to present their views and convene at regular meetings where members are updated on current issues and are able to raise subjects of mutual interest.

SETO members adhere to an established Code of Conduct and a formal Code of Ethics to consider in their dealings with schools, universities and the general public.

SETO acts as a representative body for its members and will be in regular contact, lobbying both State and Federal Governments on issues directly related to the well-being of student educational travel.

SETO provides members and key stakeholders with educational opportunities directly related to the student educational travel sector.

Education includes but is not limited to providing members with opportunities to understand and consider more efficient corporate structures for their business – all of which differ greatly across our membership group.

External education provides interested 3rd parties with a greater knowledge and understanding of this bespoke sector of the travel industry.

SETO acknowledges traditional owners of Country throughout Australia and recognise their ongoing connection to land, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and future and support the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices.
