With over 25 years of experience in the travel industry, including 16 years dedicated to the student and youth travel sector, James is a seasoned expert in educational travel. He specialises in creating domestic and international experiences for students. Having worked in three different countries, James brings a wealth of knowledge in connecting with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures. James was elected as Chair of SETO in 2025.

Rory Hall


SETO Director and Vice Chair

Camps International

With over 25 years of experience of running student expeditions around the globe, Rory brings a wealth of experience in safety, due diligence and responsible tourism to the SETO Board.  He is also an expert at working with small community based tourism operations helping them to establish sustainable and authentic experiences.

Liz Anderson


SETO Director and CEO

Sundowners Overland

Liz has worked in travel for over 20 years focusing on journeys through Mongolia, the Caucasus and along the Silk Road. From a background of teaching English as a foreign language in Japan she has retained a strong interest in lifelong learning in and out of the classroom. Liz sits on the Alumni Advisory Board for the University of NSW as well as leading the UNSW Melbourne Alumni chapter. Liz is committed to seeing SETO grow and thrive and in promoting the student educational sector.

Jamie Wansey

Student Horizons


Jamie Wansey, Managing Director of Student Horizons, is a passionate advocate for experiential learning through travel. With over 20 years of experience in educational travel, he has delivered transformative educational, sports, and music tours for more than 15,000 students worldwide. A founding member of SETO and its inaugural Vice Chair, Jamie is committed to promoting sustainable student travel. His work reflects a dedication to providing students with impactful learning experiences that build resilience and foster global perspectives.

Alana Hughes

SETO Director

WorldStrides 

With over a decade's experience working closely with Australian schools across student expeditions, educational tours and experiential learning, Alana combines her passion for travel with a customer-centric approach to business. She believes in the value of travel as a learning experience for students of all ages and is looking forward to bringing her understanding of our niche market, challenges and opportunities to the SETO board. Alana has travelled across all corners of the globe – safariing through Africa, hiking the Himalayas, completing the PanAmerican from Alaska to Patagonia, driving a beat-up car from London to Mongolia for charity and completing a lap of Australia.

David Walker 

SETO Director 

Educational Adventures

David was appointed as the inaugural Chair of SETO and remained in that role until 2025. WIth a career spanning 40 years in wholesale, retail, group touring, inbound and state tourism David has been a business owner since 1992, guiding the parent company, ITC Pacific, and its brands to a prominent position in the travel sector, most notably Sno’n’Ski Holidays which is the leading ski wholesaler in Australia and Educational Adventures. David is committed to bringing the board together to achieve their objectives and upholding the Purpose, Values  and Mission of SETO.
